Kieslowski's World

I request the owner of Kieslowski's World to start his amazing website again. The link to the site is http://www.weronika.freeserve.co.uk/

An anonymous person was handling the website content with such a great deal, adding thinks related to all the people and stories attached to the Director Kieslowski. While with all this, he was also managing a Diary where the spiritual verses of him goes on, giving a message of peace and uniformity. The question dealing with life and immortal theories, the things which are far from materialism were part of that website.

I don't know the reason to shut it down. But I would love to see that site taking breathes again as good work must not go in vain.

Hope to see this website active again as it is the only thing left with a legend director Kieslowski.

Kahaani: In the streets of Kolkata

Movie freeze you in the chair. I must say a great transformation by the Director Sujoy Ghosh. The movie seems entirely bollywood with a poles apart concept and absolutely exceptional thriller.

The script, storytelling and the direction is an excellent job. Right from the start of the movie, you get a hold on it, it don’t let you think. Conflicts are the strongest part of the story, so is the denouement. Whereas, the climax goes unexpected, so is the unexpected role of Namaste Killer.

The Bidya Bagchi comes from London in search of her missing husband, who came to Kolkatta for two weeks to work with National Data Centre. Bidya don’t receive any call from him and this forces Bidya to come Kolkatta in search of her husband Arnab Bagchi.

I must say my hats off to Bidya Balan, who acted both as actor and actress of movie. It is a movie, getting success without any actor. It certainly proves the emancipation of women in the story of movie as well, the role Bidy Balan opts. Kolkatan called her Bidya or Bidaa instead of Vidya.

No one Killed Jessica, Paa, The Dirty Picture and now Kahaani are itself enough to follow a track record of emerging fae of Vidya Balan. And that too release of Kahaani on International Women’s Day was a nice idea.

The streets of Kolkata move you to a trance. You are spell bounded by the language and mis-en-scenes of Kolkata. The rains, lightings, culture, Durga idols, Sindur Khela and down to earth, cooperative Kolkatan.
Every shot, sequence and cut is perfectly fitted and I must appreciate the job of Editor, whose work can be clearly visualized.

The small things made movie perfect like the silence of sub inspector, the radio of running water guy, the hotel manager statement – “Jaisa aap theek samjhe”, the smoking intelligent bureau agent, the Namaste Killer who had it’s fantastic role, the HR manager of company, the retired inspector who give the details, the computer which gives error, a glass of tea, the Milan Dambji documents and Mr. Briefcase.
Rana is an innocent, soft character which plays with the concealed brain that gets unveiled at last. I personally applaud for him.

Infact, the rarest topics like “Bombay Blood Group” was literally unanticipated. Well there was a strong message hidden in the story, i.e. Corruption. The futile and dangerous people like Milan Dambji are safe in the country because of officers. They don’t exist in records, but they breathe free.

The tight fitted music fills your curiosity with more excitements and those who have gone for spending time with loved ones may found Vidya fetching their attention with her reel presence.
The song by Amitabh Bacchan is integral and seems beautiful when Vidya look after the Red bordered saree.

The last scene of Sindur Khela forces you to paint Red, where the color Red is so forcefully anticipated in screening emotions, worship, supremacy, blood and feminist power.

There are only few things, which were not fitted in the movie. Ekla chalo re in western version was incapable to cope up and secondly when Bidya don’t put her signatures in the police station was adequate to envisage that Vidya is lying.
Secondly, the name of movie still forces me to think that why “Kahaani”

Last but not the least, the last scene which shows immersion of giant Durga idol takes the viewers heart away as if you feel the jiffy.

Overall, I would love to give 4.7 out of 10.

Dil Mera Muft Ka

Song Name: Dil Mera Muft Ka
Film: Agent Vinod
Singer(s): Altamush Faridi, Muazzam, Shabab Sabri, Rizwan, Nandini Shrikar & Shadab Faridi
Music Director: Pritam
Lyricist: Amitabh Bhattacharya
Length: 4:26
Music Label: T-Series

The mujra is back with the Nazakat and Adaein wali item girl, Kareena Kapoor.
The Mujra actually came out from Mughal era, were the dance was performed in Kothas. The exotic dance was best fitted in the bollywood movies like Umrao Jaan and Devdas and recently by Aishwarya Rai Bacchan in the song "Kajrare".

But Bebo failed doing justice with Mujra. Here lies some reason why song fill fail and gets hit.

Failures:

- softness of body is not allowed
- sharpness in steps is not visualized
- wardrobe goes very obsolete and don't suits with ambiances (neither it is exactly designed for Mujra style)
- her partner (in Blue) performing more better than Bebo.
- the expressions of actress is erotic
- the choreography is not up to the mark
(It seems that Kareena did this song against her will or she was shot in her practice)
- When we see the ambiance of song, the traits seems hybrid of Qawaali and Mujra.
- Infact, it strongly proves that the actress can't perform.
- The text which interferes in between the song

Hit:

- The song is good, but lyrics is not that easy.(Like pacchattar and sattatar)
- The music is too good as off course, it is a Pritam's creation (The source of plagirisation is still unknown)
- After a long, Mujra is back and that too they chose hot girl for performance.

The name of the film seems sarcastic on very first. The movie starts with three flawless actors. Imraan Khan with black swollen eye, shaved shirt, pampered fiancé calling him Tashi.
Kunaal, the obese, porn photographer, with old scooter and sufferer of Traveller diarrhea named as nitin.
Thirdly, the fantastic come back of Vir Das, after acting in Mumbai Salsa of Vikram Bhatt, one who is cartoonist and makes banana smile named as Arup in the film. All three guys fit themselves into stinky room, shortcoming of water supply forced Nitin to wash loo with mango juice sticking his butt.
The screenplay of the room was crisp and focused where the kathak girls dancing on upper floor don’t them sleep and talk. The movie goes on the great way, as it is old twist based story where twist helps to extend the movie. The conflicts of the story was not that much stronger, but comedy raised the audience to burst to peels of laughter.
The direction of Abhinay Deo seems good and tight, but the story fails somewhere.
The dialogue, which created hype between audiences and statement of Aamir in the media, were not enough to prove that it’s adult. Accordingly, it was far from adult.
The position of journalist and out of money condition perfectly depicted in the movie. The money, diamonds and abusive words simply tucked the movie. Bhaag DK Bose raised the audience from their chair and Chudel was imagination was Arup really helpful in potraying his heartbreak from his love.
Storytelling was good but the movie had loopholes in the story.
The gaali of Maa behen upsets the audience, while youth were noticed saluting the dialogues. The burkha-wearing boys simply looted the shop and ran away.
The picture however showed the different Aamir production for these weird types of audiences who love to hear about sex and love making scene of the actor Imraan.
The drive of Red car however felt significant as montage to the crushing falling bullet love in which Imraan is going to dip him in love with a journalist.

I hate you like I love you in the bracket was best ever noticed at the position making Imraan realize the desire for journalist making him wild to jump to car and have long kiss to journalist.

Overall, after desi gaalia in Peepli live, this expected to be work of Aamir Khan production, but special guest appeal of Aamir at last was not well placed and seems of no use.

Rockstar 2011 Review

the only movie which proves that acting and music can create a world around you.

The Friday dated as 11-11-2011
Rockstar

Producer: Dhilin Mehta
Director: Imtiaz Ali
Music Director: AR Rahman
Artists (Cast): Nargis Fakhri, Ranbir Kapoor

The transition period of stupid, idiot Janardhan to Rockstar Jordan seems a nice concept.
The initiation of movie was simply fantabulous, where the Heer(Nargis Fakhri) dance in the style of somewhat Midas touch of Europe was showing that Europe going to further front of the movie. Whereas, the volley of comment from boys seems dramatic, so the dramatic are many portion of the movie, where you feel lack of “FEEL”.
The sense of humor is appreciated when Ranbeer gets nervous by seeing Heer in the campus. But the show Junglee Jawani is however seems not a part of real story, as the Heer acting fails to depicts the originality in it.

Stephen Herek directed the Hollywood movie with the name Rockstar in year 2001, showing the band, audiences, crowd, metallic and all surrounded by music also. Seems to be copied as the hoardings of both gives same impression.
People find it close to Jab we Met, Jim Morrison, but I haven’t find any link in between these all.

Acting:
Nargis, a new entry with the skiny body, beautiful lips, however fails to act. However, it was earlier decided that Kareena will act in the film, but Kareena and Ranbeer being sibling, can’t go for intimate scenes of the movie. Director gave a thought to change the actress rather changing the actor, as Ranbeer was fitted for the movie.
However, Ranbeer and last performance of Shammi Kapoor as the music maestro created a musical moment.
Ranbeer acting shook the bollywood as no other actor can fulfill this challenge. Aditi played well as Journalist.

Music:
After Khwaja, Maula Maula(Delhi6), Kun faya kun undoubtedly bought close to feel the god.
The jugalbandi of traditional, soft, compromising music was going with modern, metallic, stings and wild music was amazing concept. In addition, justice was done by acting of Shammiji and Ranbeer. Hats off!!!  AR Rehman sahib.
Lyrics constitute words from different languages touching the million hearts. Eg. Sadda Haq, Kun faya kun, Gaga re mori ( Nadaan Parinde) and remaining the the dichotomy of Taj touched in its own way.

Camera Angles:
Camera angles were experimenting, but every shot failed to leave a Headspace ( The space left above head) and every shot shows the half head or one fourth head in the movie. The movie was occupied by the aerial shot. Imtiaz better have used the loneliness of Ranbeer in showing the title.
Imtiaz found anger in the movie, but that anger was not enough to raise the audiences to salute the screen or raise from chairs.
However one scene, which touched me the most, when they make sketching of Jordan and raise the hoarding, arise and stands at the top, that simply touched me the most in the movie. Infact when Jordan and Heer exchange the kiss, the church is not complete in the shot. The aesthetics of Prague was not able to come out of movie. Off course, ambiences increase the intensity of movie. Eg. The auditorium, where the Jordan gives his concert was eye catching. But low angle camera angles were utilized during the stage performances of Jordan and the concert of Prague.

Flaws:
The movie has many flaws in it. Editing needs to be done again, as it is far from the reach of common audience and maximum viewer’s complaint for not knowing the destination of Heer.
The movie had a flaw, when the Ranbeer sing his own lines of Kun Faya Kun song; he looks upward, and then comes aerial shot in the movie. In the same aerial shot, Ranbeer is missing.
Even when Jordan remembers Heer, he remembers a scene when Heer collapsed in front of her hubby. Nevertheless, at that time, Jordan was not in front of her. So how can he remember the moment he haven’t seen. Editing needs to be crisper.

Wardrobe of Jordan
It took more than one year to collect the ragged, used cloths for Jordan. It was the first thing, everyone notice in Jordan and off course the movie. They can have also tried bandana on his head. The sleeveless jackets, harem and loose shirts and the types of turban he wears.

Even the Kashmiri bridal dress of Heer, seems different and not the one from any movie. Dressing was almost best with Ustaad Zamil khan role.

Directorial Style:
Movie was good in showing the peeping of media in personal life and not understanding the emotion of a rockstar.
Worth good in that part, the direction was.
The most important thing that the small bytes of Kashmir, were people raise their hands in the song “Sadda Haq” was breaking. It simply conveyed the message of countrywide people fighting for their rights.
Somewhere, I find Imtiaz inspired by recent wars of Libya and Syria as the movie making took place during this time and it is vivid by the costumes of Ranbeer.
The young generation seems to be inspired by the Jordan, as the girl raised in his own family purchases the DVD.
Negative is easily developed shown in the movie was a good part of movie. The sketches were awesome.
Shots were not enough and beauty of Prague was not equivalent to the love story of Heer and Jordan. The way the soul of Heer comes at the end, seems weird.
However, there is something special in this movie, not the scene or the story, but a strange thing; you won’t like the movie as you watch. You will start liking the movie after two to three days and you will wish for second watch.
The reason behind this may be, the jump cuts are allowed in the movie, out of which people are messed up.
However, social message were expected to be solidified by this movie. But people were expecting too much of social messages from the movie.
The way Imtiaz never love to be that close with media, can be seen in the movie, that media diagnosed or dissect the personal life of star and off course, media person must thing that they need some time to cope up to.
Last but not the least, Naddaan Parinde performed by Ranbeer is the most touchy song in the movie. When he turn back to the audiences, the lyrics "daggar gaggar" goes on.
